One of the earliest live-action versions of Wonder Woman redefined her most iconic weapon. Since her 1941 debut, Wonder Woman quickly became one of DC’s most popular heroes, though, unfortunately, there have not been quite as many live-action Wonder Woman adaptations as the other two members of DC’s “Big Three.” Decades before Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins solidified Wonder Woman as an A-list DC property, Lynda Carter’s iteration introduced an entire generation to the mythic superheroine and elements of her comic lore. The 1970s Wonder Woman TV show also, notably, forever changed the primary function of her famous Lasso of Truth.
