It follows psychologist Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), and her efforts, along with Catholic seminarian David Acosta (Mike Colter) and technology contractor Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi), to investigate a number of supposedly paranormal events. Emerson stars as Leland Townsend, a rival of Kristen’s who influences others to commit acts of evil, and in the season 3 finale, audiences were surprised to learn that Kristen’s missing egg was used by him and another woman to have a child.
